ROMANS 5-8
•Justification results in peace and righteousness (5:2-21)
•What does Justification mean?
•To make righteous in the sight of God
•What does righteous mean?
•morally right, virtuous, innocent
•Justification results in peace and righteousness
•Justification is the process in which God makes us
innocent… like Him.
•Through Adam we die…. Through Christ we LIVE!
•Christian life is a victorious struggle with sin (6:1-7:25)
•6:1-2
•Just because we know Christ has saved us we shouldn’t sin to
sin…. Instead we should be a TRADER and be different… like
CHRIST.
•6:11-14 (MSG) From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a
dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your
mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to
sin and alive to God. That’s what Jesus did. That means you
must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives.
Don’t give it the time of day. Don’t even run little errands that
are connected with that old way of life. Throw yourselves
wholeheartedly and full-time—remember, you’ve been raised from the dead!—into God’s way of doing things. Sin can’t tell
you how to live. After all, you’re not living under that old
tyranny any longer. You’re living in the freedom of God.
•The spirit of Christ is the Power of the Christians life (8:1-39)
•Because of Christ we can turn from our sinful nature and
please God
•WE ARE CONQUERORS with Christ!
Where do you stand tonight?
Are you a conqueror or are you being conquered?
